Everything here tastes home made. I've been a few times now, so I have a good sampling. I've brought home mountains of shrimp & rice, fish fillets, jugo de coco, and crab paella. The prices are really good, and you feel as if you just walked into a market to pick up some items. Helpful staff here, and a good area to hang out under the fans (if it's not too hot).

The place is very small and always crowded. Good selection of those hard to find herbs and tropical vegetables and fruits. Their fruit salad is yummy. I always forget they take only cash and last time I was there, after making an endless line at the register, I had to leave nearly everything but what I could pay for with cash which was only 2 things. They should have a sign darnit! Or take credit or debit cards like the rest of Miami

This is a great place whenever one is in the mood for fresh fruit juice and wants it along with a cultural experience. This place is in the 'burbs but it feels like you just walked into a country in latin america. I'm not talking about "La Carreta" where the menu is both in English and Spanish - this place is genuinely authentic. It's a little spanish style market that sells everything from vegetables to hot soup. Make no mistake though, you come here for the exotic fruit juice selection. I have had the mango and the pina colada (virgin of course) and they are really good. If you don't know Miami, you need to come here with a little knowledge of the spanish language and be willing to flex it. The juices run from 2.00 - 2.50 - Cheap! Can't beat it with a stick...

Quick and Dirty (in a good way) This "Palace of Juices" is getting 4 stars from me because of the great quick bites they offer up. It's located right on the corner of Miller Dr. and 97th Ave. This place offers up the best fresh juice you can buy in the area. It's a little grocery store that sells fresh fruits and meats, but it has a little cafe and juice bar inside. The juice bar offers up various drinks ranging from pina colada to coconut and mango. The juices here are cheap too. The cafe also offers up some good cafe con leche. The sandwiches here are decent enough, but you could get better elsewhere. I also tried the croquetas here. The ham ones are good, and they also have fish croquetas, which I wasn't too fond of. A BIG reason to get over here is that they sell Chicarrones with a good chunk of the meat still attached. Their chicharrones are SO good but they are a bit salty. The skin is so crisp and the meat so tender, you almost hate the fact that its SO Cheap because you end up buying way more than you're heart can handle. Definitely worth coming here alone for. Come for the Juice, stay for the Chicharrones. Also...try to bring a Spanish speaker with you if you don't know the language. Or learn. You're in Miami....how do you survive??

Yum! Yum! *~YUM~* Oh my goodness, I finally made it over to this place after passing it every day for months. I finally see why it's always so crowded outside at lunch time. I got lechon with arroz y garbanzos and fufu de platanos today ($8). The lechon was pretty much horrible, worst ever, actually, hence the docked star. It was really dry, no crispy skin, overly salty, oily without the extra flavor, and really really bitter. I've never had bitter lechon before so I have no idea why or how it got that way. Now to the goods and the explanation for the four stars...Everything else I ordered far surpassed my expectations. The garbanzos were amazing! Creamy from the auyama and so rich in flavor from the pig skin used for chicharron, chorizo, pig stomach (I think--like what bacon comes from), and other pork bits added in. It was like New Soul Food or something. This place really knows how to to some good pork meat to flavor their food!! The fufu was SO GOOD!! I absolutely loove mofongo, so this was amazing! A lot creamier than mofongo with much more flavor thanks to a special Cuban friend--CHICHARRON! Thanks Kelly O. for recommended fufu on my thread a while back :)! As far as price, I'm so happy to have a go-to for quick, affordable, yet flavorful food. Although what I ordered wasn't the most affordable thing on the menu, there are some seriously affordable options here. You can get arroz, pollo y platanos for 5 bucks! Crazy! One thing I will say is, this is not the place to go to get something healthier than fast food, lol The batidos seem slightly overpriced compared to other places (much smaller cup), but they're good, not the best, though. Overall, I can't wait to try more food here. Sadly, it's better than the Cuban food I've had in sit-down restaurants, as far as the sides are concerned. BUT, thus far, Las Vegas has the best lechon...not always consistent tho : / **cash only**
